Im just wondering

Is ur customer number on the BSR/UBR supposed to change at all?

It's nothing more than the reverse DNS of your IP address, therefore it changes every time IP address changes.

He's ex-ntl and has two modems and connecting with and without router for test purposes at the moment so is changing IP addresses, the DNS on ex-ntl BSRs / 10ks is (using OP's IP from newsgroups):

cpc2-cwma7-2-0-custxxx.7-3.cable.virginmedia.com

That's the customer number he's referring to I imagine so there you go.
