Please Help - Second Hand V+HD Box Question
Hey All,
Can you guys assist me? I got a second hand v+ HD Box and I hooked it all up to replace my standard normal V Box. I am paying for the v+hd package and i got multiroom so i bought a second hand v+hd box to put in my other room. Ok so i hook it all up and it works fine BUT there are lots of channels etc that do not display which should. Its like the box is locked onto the pervious owners channels. Is there any way around this? Plus it wont record (N) because my 2nd box is just standard and it says am not paying customer for this (N). Just wondering if theres a way to unlock or reset your box or something to go to your channels? Thanks Jamie |

Not without speaking to customer services.
Oh and Virgin might want its box back if the previous subscriber didn't buy it off them. |

So, let me get this straight, you want to know how to manipulate your unauthorised V+ box, to get more channels and to receive services you are not paying for, but everybody else does?

Re: Please Help - Second Hand V+HD Box Question
That V+ box you bought is owned by Virgin and shouldn't have been sold. I'm afraid it will be a door stop as the only way to get it working is to get 1 from Virgin and pay for it.

Re: Please Help - Second Hand V+HD Box Question
Hi monty1989, and :welcome:
As has already been said above, the only way to legitimately accomplish what you're trying to is to speak to Virgin Media and get them to arrange appropriate hardware/services as required. If the box wasn't bought from VM by the original owner then it may not have been theirs to sell so it's unlikely that VM will be too interested in servicing it for free. Finally, any discussion on how to 'unlock'/'reset' that box to receive services to which (according to what you've said about the contract you're on) you are not entitled won't be allowed here as it would be against our Terms of Use. The best advice anybody here can realistically give would be for you to contact Virgin Media. |
