WNR 2000 and VOIP

Hello all

When I make a VOIP call through (use the VOIPCHEAP service) via a SIEMENS GIGASET S450IP device (static 192.168.1.8) and handset, the call drops out after about 25 secs!!

As the GIGASET config page states VOIPCHEAP is not registered I presume that my WNR2000 is somehow blocking data through the port 5060??

Anyhow I have tried putting 192.168.1.8 in DMZ, port fowarding 5060 to the SIP device and disabling SPI but to NO AVAIL - am exhausted - but see many others on other forum sites have had same problem - oh I wish I knew the solution.

If I connect the SIP device directly to modem then registration succeeds and all is well. I suppose the WNR2000 needs a tweak somewhere??

Many many thanks

Re: WNR 2000 and VOIP

It's a known issue of the WNR2000. You have to downgrade the firmware version to 1.1.3.9. I have a case running with netgear since july, but they haven't found this out yet.

Thats most kind for noting this
At least I know its outside my control!
I shall log a support call for what its worth
In meantime I dont suppose you know where I can download this particular firmware version??
No worries if you cannot reply...
