V+ Going Old School
Just checked the VM website and the pics of the Sammy V+ box seem to have all disappeared. Are they going back to SA V+ boxes now?
They havn't pulled the Sammy already have they? Any news guys and girls? |
Re: V+ Going Old School
No I think its just that they don't have stock of the Samsung at the moment.

Re: V+ Going Old School
I see. I did have another look after posting and found a pic of the SA box with a little disclaimer saying 'box may differ than that shown' or words to that effect

Re: V+ Going Old School
I had Virgin installed on Saturday and the installation guy (virgin employee, not Kellys) said that as I was having all 3 services and the top broadband, he would treat me with one of the few Samsungs he had on board.
He stated that the trouble is, word has started to get out as to how good they are and everyone now wants them. He said that it simply isn't possible for Virgin to replace all perfectly working SA boxes with Samsung ones both from the point of view of sending an engineer out to every TV subscriber, and the cost of giving them a new box and disposing of their old one. Maybe because of this, Virgin are putting the old pic on their web site so that they get fewer people phoning up asking for the newer one? |
Re: V+ Going Old School
I admit it is a marketing ploy.
Web site shows the inferior box therefore people can't complain when that one turns up on installation. If the better Sammy is installed then I'm sure the tech will sing its praises and drop a few hints that its newer and better than the box advertised and will maybe throw in a few 'not many people in the country have this one' for good measure |
Re: V+ Going Old School
I had a new Samsung Box installed as a replacement to a SA about 3 weeks ago - I can understand why people want them - The sammy box is like jump to light speed compared to the SA
