Broadband plus Line Rental question?

Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before but I can't find a thread on it.

I currently have the following services:

Line Rental: £11
Broadband L: £25

Looking at the website it says Broadband L is £14/month plus £11 for phone line rental which equals the £25 on my bill right? So I'm wondering why it looks like I've been charged twice for the line rental?

And why is it only £20 for the Broadband WITHOUT the phone line? I understand that if they were to charge £20 PLUS a phone line it would be £31 so in effect, the Broadband/TV bundle does save you money. It's just confusing why it's set out as £25 in total when in reality it is £36.

I think I've been looking at too many different prices and bundles and just confused myself even further, lol

Any help would be much appreciated!! :)

If you want my honest advice, don't go with VM National Service - at this moment, it's going through some issues or has gone through some issues. Personally, if you want a decent ADSL broadband service, got with BE or if you are with 02, got to 02 same network and pretty darn good :)

What issues do you mean? And what is BE?

Sorry I'm pretty clueless about these things!

It's okay. Be* Is another internet provider for phone lines. I've got them as I cant get Virgin Media. Their website: https://www.bethere.co.uk/web/beportal/homepage

Virgin issues, include, wrong activation dates, no hardware turning up, no activation etc etc - seemed to be a bug in their systems but is "sorted" now.

Thanks for that link, I'll take a look.

We've been in VM/NTL for years so I've just stuck with it, but money is tight at the moment so I'm looking for alternatives.

I know my sister is having problems with VM re getting a new phone line/broadband set up but I put it down to bad luck as I've never experienced anything like that with them. Hopefully they get their act together eh?! lol

If you are paying full price you BB L and Phone line then I reckon you could upgrade to BB XL (20Mbit) for £5 less

The offer system Virgin use should allow you to do it easily

Well BE is cheaper - or if you are an active 02 customer, it's even cheaper.

3 Months free on the broadband: http://broadband.o2.co.uk/home/index.jsp

And if you need to get a line installed, BT will do it FOC: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/dea...e-installation
