Powerline networking - pro's & con's

I'm interested in possibly setting this up. Anyone here already done this? Good or bad?

Cheers.;)

Pros: It works really well, is very simple and rock solid. You also get wireless extenders. Go through the powerlines where needed and go wireless after that.

Cons:
Don't expect great speeds. I've got a set that are rated at 85mbps, but don't get much more than 15 mbps throughput. Newer models have are rated at 200mbps (IIRC), but I don't know what throughput they achieve.

Price. Last time I looked, they weren't very cheap.

If you don't need super fast speeds and want reliability, I'd go for it.

I absolutely second that. My experience too. Can't do without Powerline.

I am about to invest in some soon at home due to where I have equipment now and its easier to use these than route CAT5 everywhere. Belkin do a 1GB set!

I am looking to implement this at my Dad's work at some point, office is 80m away from the house so rather than running cable we are going to try these out.

It very much depends on the quality of the electrics throughout the building.
