VM HD Channels

I pay full whack for my tv service and am getting a bit fed up of Disney hd advertisements and sky sports hd advertisements, I seem to be paying as much as a sky viewer but don't receive the hd content they do.

And no sorry Living HD wont make up for it.

Our tv is on Disney from 7am to 7pm and then I get to watch a bit of sport after the boss has watched her soaps .. It would be nice to watch Sky sports in HD and as I pay top whack with no deals or discounts Disney HD would be nice too.

Regards.

Damn posted this in the wrong section..

May I suggest 12 hours of TV particularly on one channel is bad for your health and there are plenty of other pass times that you or children could partake in, including playing outside or even going to school (if they are of that age)

Back to HD i would say Disney HD is quite possible owing to current deals being done between VM and Disney. Sky sports may also appear pending OfCOM enquiry. As for pricing SKY set the Sky Sports price and will not currently include HD for that so you are better off complaining to SKY

Only option - join the devil, sorry, Sky.
Incidentally, I doubt you're paying as much as a Sky HD viewer for the same services.

Re: VM HD Channels

I think I'm locked into a new contract Martin. I just had the normal samsung box and coincidently the week we got a new HD Plasma VM called saying I could have a HD box. I asked what I'd get for paying for this box and they said all the HD channels.. Like a numpty I thought they meant ALL as in what I'd seen advertised on my VM channels. I got a new contract to sign the following week. So I guess I'm moaning about me not knowing the facts before I jumped in LOL. Nobody's fault but mine.

I wonder how much sky viewers pay for the full whack? I pay £75 a month which is ok.. but doubt I could afford Sky if they pay more.

REgards.

The full Sky HD package; sports, movies, and Sky World is fifty-seven pounds per month and it includes upto 2mbps broadband (yes, only upto 2mbps BB). On the face of it it may sound better value for money, But, when you consider the bundle packages; telephone, BB and TV, you really can't beat VM. Yes they may not have all the HD channels yet (for which I am just as disappointed as the next man), but you have to take into account all the other services that come with V+, e.g., VOD and you certainly can't fault the 20mbps and 50mbps BB speeds either. I was with Sky up until just under a year ago, their BB was nowhere near 2mbps (I was lucky to get 0.4mbps) and I had to pay for maintenance for the boxes, cables and dish. BT were screwing every last penny they could from me and I just snapped and told them all to beggar off. Yes, there have been a few niggles with VM, for example, their call centre in India is pants, but then that is ALL customer service departments for you and certainly no better than Sky's. There are some difference in functionality in the two boxes, the V+ box won't record from the buffer, but Sky's box has only two tuners whereas V+ has three, V+ will store programming in the buffer, whilst you are watching a recorded programme, Sky's EPG is easier to navigate, V+'s EPG has picture-in-picture. But over all, I do think that V+ is better value for money and has more benefits than Sky, even though they don't have as much HD linear output and you can't record from the buffer.

Yes totally agree with you Flyboy as my 20m BB is excellent and it's that that ties me to VM. Doubt I could go back to 2m BB now.

Regards.

Let's try and remember that we're all here to help each other shall we, if you don't like the advice that someone gives you either just ignore it or say so politely.

There's no need for sniping and nastiness.

Since forever; its that little window at the top right hand corner/right hand centre, of the screen, one eighth/one sixteenth the size of the screen (depending on which part of the menu you are viewing).
