Email: 550 Error
I have a colleague who is a VM customer, with a NTLWorld email address.
They can receive emails ok, but cannot send. Every time they try to send the message is bounced with a 550 error stating that they are 'not allowed' to send an email to that address. Any ideas where they can start looking for the cause of this? |
Re: Email: 550 Error
Are they relaying Rob?

Re: Email: 550 Error
Never layed me in the first place :erm: :D
Don't know. Apparently it used to work and now it doesn't. ---------- Post added at 15:21 ---------- Previous post was at 15:20 ---------- I'm guessing the first thing to check is going to be the servers that they have set up and go from there? What should the servers be for Virgin? |
Re: Email: 550 Error
smtp.blueyounder.co.uk
smtp.ntlworld.com smtp.virginmedia.com |

Re: Email: 550 Error
Same issue here.
smtp.ntlworld.com does not seem to be working for me within the virgin network. Fine through the webmail app, but not from my e-mail program. Been about a week now... |
Re: Email: 550 Error
Sorry, forgot to update this:
Problem solved. In the field in Outlook where you type the address that you're sending from when you set up your accounts, the address this person had was a different one to the main one on that account (there was a number where there shouldn't be one). Changed that and now all is well again. Thanks all. |
