network name change

I have just went wireless, using my virgin modem and Netgear WG511v2, the thing is I do not like the (SSID) network name I have set up, how can I change this or can I delete this profile and start again?
(Novice, please be gentle)
Thank you

The SSID is set via the router, once you;ve set a new SSID then you;ll probably have to reset up the connection on the PC (i.e.. set up a new wireless profile which is dependant on which wireless card you have and which software it has installed

Re: network name change

Yes, but first you need to change the SSID in the router (as the SSID is the given name of the wifi netowrk of that particular router)

:o:this is really embarrassing, but How do I do that?

I entered the IP address of my router into my web browser's address bar and hit "enter", but page Failed to open!

You perhaps read the manual which came with whichever router you bought...... As currently only you know that answer
