Can't configure internet as Virgin Media doesn't recognise Windows 7
Hello.
My friend has had her 2mb STB internet upgraded to 10mb with a separate modem. Unfortunately, the configuration software in IE won't continue as it doesn't recognise Windows 7 as a valid OS. For the time being, I've had to put it back to how it was. Can anyone give me a workaround? I thought about using the XP virtualisation feature but her CPU doesn't support it. Cheers. |

You don't need to use the software.
I assume she has her modem connected by ethernet. Just turn on the new modem, wait a minute, then turn on the computer. It should work. |

If you are still having trouble with IE, you could try installing Firefox.

Thanks. It's working now.
IE just kept redirecting to a configuration page that wouldn't run but seems ok now I've tried it again. Should have just tried again this morning! ---------- Post added at 14:18 ---------- Previous post was at 14:00 ---------- Ok, the internet runs through the modem but it's still at the old speed. How do I sort it out? Cheers. |

She will need to contact customer services, unless you are named as a contact on the account, in which case you can call.
