Another microfilter problem
Hi everyone,
I'm new here so I'm hope I'm posting this in the right forum... anyway, my problem is; A month ago I moved into my new flat, went about getting the internet and phone set up and so on, and chose to go with a combined Post Office broadband+phone service. There is only one phone socket in the flat, so I have the microfilter that they supplied with the rest of the kit (ZyXEL wireless router etc) but when I use this microfilter, the phone (admittedly a cheap one from Asda) doesn't work. No dial tone or anything, but the internet works fine both through cable connection to my desktop and through wireless to my laptop. So I bought a different microfilter, but when I use that one, the phone works and not the router. The phone also works when plugged directly into the socket. I'm expecting they'll be pretty useless if I ring them up, so was hoping someone here would be able to shed some light on whether it's the equipment I'm using, or the line itself that is the problem. Thanks in advance for any help, Dan |

Have you tried to test socket (Taking the faceplate off) |
Re: Another microfilter problem
No extension on the line no, the filter is straight into the socket.
And I haven't taken the faceplate off no. |
Re: Another microfilter problem
Try it in the test socket and see what happens

Re: Another microfilter problem
Took the faceplate off and tried it in the test socket and no luck. Anything else I can do?
