Belkin router mysteriously working OK now

I've had numerous problems with my Belkin N router dropping my wifi connection several times a day since I got it several months ago. In fact I'm on my second one now as Belkin replaced my original purchase, but problem persisted with the replacement too. But, since coming back from holiday 2 weeks ago it has worked flawlessly 24x7. Any ideas as to why this has happened. Not that I'm complaining of course but scratching my head as to why it should be seemingly OK now. If I could work out why this is, perhaps it might go some way to explain why it didn't work correctly in the first place.

Any insights much appreciated.

Cheers

Sharing a wireless channel number with your house telephone system, perhaps?

I would agree with that, or your neighbours wifi interfering with yours and they have changed their channel number.

The second is by far the more likely. I have yet to see a credible report of the first in the UK with DECT 'phones, because they don't share the GSM band. (Remember Americans contribute most to the internet and are blissfully unaware that things are ordered differently in the Rest of the World :) )

Most likely you were suffering interference and now you're not. Did you turn your Belkin router off a the wall when you were away (perhaps it just wanted a rest!) Belkin routers have an auto channel setting, I think it changes dynamically for the best channel to use.
