If you had been on 20Mb you could have got a wireless N router for £25 from Virgin, on 10Mb it is £50 but with full technical support and it will be either a Netgear WNR2000 or a D link 615.

Or you can get a Netgear WGR614 G router for £40 from Virgin again with full technical support.

I just got a WRT54G from PCWorld (I know, I know :) But I wanted it there and then ) for about £35. Working a treat so far. :)

Re: virgin media modem want wireless router

I'm on 20Mb and using the free router from the original trial, being a Netgear WGR614 v6.
I know this is locked with Virgin firmware.
If I bought, from Virgin, a wireless N router does anybody know if it is locked with Virgin firmware so cannot be updated at a later date or does it still have the original makers firmware installed?

The N routers supplied by Virgin have standard firmware and you may actually receive a D Link 615 as they are replacing the Netgear WNR2000, just depends what is on the shelf.

This is the link to the routers supplied now by Virgin http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html.../wireless.html

Re: virgin media modem want wireless router

How would I go about buying an N router and adaptor as the virgin shop price is much dearer than quoted on that page?
Would I still be able to buy one as I have a Virgin G router already?
