Harriet Harperson strikes again.

I did hope to not be the first to post this for obvious reasons. Buy as noone else will, it appears...

Harriet Harman thinks that men can no longer be trusted with running a country and thinks that one should be installed into that position even when none can earn their place in the usual route.

Quote:

One of Labour's top two posts should always be held by a woman, Deputy Leader Harriet Harman has told a paper.

She does "not agree with all-male leaderships" because men "cannot be left to run things on their own" she told the Sunday Times.

A balanced team of men and women make "better decisions," she added.

The MP reportedly tried to change the party's rules to ensure a female was always in a top job shortly after winning the deputy leadership contest.
But all is not lost. The ever sensible Ann Widdecombe has an excellent response:

Quote:

Former Conservative minister Ann Widdecombe dismissed the idea of reserving one of Labour's top posts for a woman as "remarkably silly" and said jobs should be handed out on merit.

"As long as women are in Parliament, and are good, then I don't have a view on whether the entire Cabinet is male or female," she said.

Special processes to encourage females to get to the top were "demeaning," particularly if the processes "involved positive discrimination" or "unjustified over-promotion," she added.
The full quote is quite good but can't find it. She also said how stupid it would be if a man said that 2 women couldn't be trusted to run a country and how Harman thinks its she gets a free pass to say it because she's a woman.

I do find it crazy for someone with so much man-hatred to be in charge of anything, let alone equality.

Someone should throw the book at her - such as, er the Book of Parlimentary acts and hopefully when it lands and after it has knocked her out and she has come round again that she finds she is at the pages... Sex Discrimination Act 1975.

Or the Talking Utter Bollards Act 2009.

Well she's not on her own in the talking rollocks Stakes and as the majority of MPs are men she has a lot of crap company.:p:

It's an interesting opinion, and one that she's certainly entitled to - doesn't stop it being nearly the most ignorant thing I've heard all year so far.

I remember reading a newspaper article over 30 years ago just before Thatcher got elected. It was about how we should encourage more females into politics and the great positive effects this would have in debating chambers. The article alluded to the fairer sex being more willing to listen and less aggressive so parliament would become less gladatorial.

Hmmmm :erm:

Nice theory but it hasn't worked out in practice. The females who have made it to parliament tend to be every bit as antagonistic as the males. They are also every bit as capable as backstabbing, scheming, bitching and talking *******s as any male MP.

Yup, Politics rewards the aggressive and ambitious.

Harriet Harpon come on we all knew it was going to be stupid because despite being a woman nothing she says seems to have any logic or intellect behind it. Quite funny though that she doesn't get the irony of many of her own opinions.

This is just another indication that Labour have pushed the self destruct button. All this infighting and back stabbing has finished them as a legitimate party I just wish the elections were closer than they are.

I don't think he has a big enough pair to call an election even if he did think he was favourite.

Having, probably, been a "teachers pet", Monitor, prefect or whatever at school, you know, one of them Kids the rest of the class despises, he would instinctively know he would not be anyones favourite.

I don't take part in opinion polls but if I did I would lie my socks off. That way the ******* marketeers who interpret them might skew the results to show a truer picture than the lies they usually come up with.

Why can't we have leaders chosen on *merit*? Oh, wait...

Actually, seriously, the leader of *any* organisation (be it the Government, a Bank or any large Organisation) should be chosen because they can do the job, not because of their gender, race, age or any other reason.
