The thunder that accompanied that was that powerful it shook several factories in trafford park . Was at work and felt the ground shake...

We were all stunned to say the least.

a few years ago we had a lightening strike in my home town in wales, it hit an electrical pylon about 50 yards from our house. it shock the ground so bad it threw off my feet upstairs i heard my mum scream in fear downstairs and my shouting if everyone was alright and it left us with a crack in one of the outter walls of the house atleast 8FT long and 3" wide.

Also i was in a Hotel in France in May 2005 when that building was struck by lightening and it blew the lamp in our room the building shook like n earthquake.

That's a good shot there.

My sisters house got struck by lightning in 1990, she wasn't in at the time, she was lucky because it blew the TV out of the window, it made a right mess of the house..

I love thunderstorms! We live on top of a hill, so when there are storms, they tend to go 'round' all the estates of Luton one by one.. pretty :D

What about the ones on the 17th July at about 11:30am? :(

The thunder and lightning was crazy and here in Barton-le-clay we ended up living next to a river as the water down the road was up and over the kerbs due to the massive downpour of rain and hail.. If you look at the photo below the kerbs where the grass meets the road is not visible anymore and the water got higher than that approaching all of the front doors..
