Case of being overcharged

Or just deals overtaking me

I pay this at the moment

Telephone Line Rental £11.00
Talk Unlimited £7.95
Free Voicemail £0.00
Talk International £1.50
Talk Mobile £1.50
Add Set Box(es) Discount £-10.00
T V Size: X L £23.00
Broadband Size: X L £37.00
V+ Box £10.00
Phone,T V & B B Saving £-29.95
1 Additional V Box £15.00

Which comes to

£67 - £1 for e billing

But when I go on Virgins website and put everything in the same except for no Talk Mobile and Talk International I get quoted a price

£63

But I was told I had to have the Talk Mobile and Talk International to get the discounts so have been paying for them.

I think I am what was called Triple XL. I have been paying this for about 14 months.

Should I phone and get it reduced, or basically haggle as I am out of contract anyway, and all the messing about with V Stuff is really annoying me and I might walk.

No what you have is the XL Plus - the difference between the two is mainly the V+ install fee

Re: Case of being overcharged

Do you think I could just change the package without the install fee (seeing as I have had it 14 months now). Might go for the 50mb seeing as the price drops in September.

Re: Case of being overcharged

Might be - but to get the right price you would have to pay a £75 conversion fee on the V+ to go to the new pricing (from £10 p/month to £0 per month)

Re: Case of being overcharged

Ok, so what is this conversion charge, I have been paying my £10 since the TV Drive as it was came out, surely this could be waved.

Re: Case of being overcharged

OK, I phoned today and said I would pay the £49 to drop the v+ charge, but was told it would make no difference to my bill as I would then lose the discounts for being on XL Plus.

Does this seem right ?

Re: Case of being overcharged

Yes that is right. The XL plus includes the £10 fee as part the bundle.

If you remove it you would lose the discount.

However if you were to do the conversion fee AND the 50Mbit upgrade at the same time they should then put you on the Triple XL 50 for £66. With the extra STB and TI/TM you would then pay £74.

This is compared with £75 for a straight 50Mbit upgrade on the XL Plus

Re: Case of being overcharged

And what would that price be after 1st September ?

Re: Case of being overcharged

Those are the post 1st September prices.

Re: Case of being overcharged

OK Thanks. So if I also drop the TI and TM it should be £71 ?
