Just a quick, question..

Been watching the iPlayer live - do you still need a license to watch the iPlayer live?

Erm how would they know you are a license payer? But yes officially you do need a license to use it to view programming.

I've not the foggiest but I noticed this at the bottom of the iPlayer:

"Don't forget, to watch TV online as it's being broadcast, you still need a TV licence."

You always have. But I guess checking IP addresses is a bit of a waste of time.
