Wireless N-Router Router Speed

I recently upgraded to Virgin 50mb broadband from Virgin 20mb. I've got 2 computers linked up to the router, one directly plugged in via the modem and another connected through wireless using a RangeMax Wireless-N adapter (WN111) dongle given to me by the 'engineer'.

On the main computer, plugged in directly, I get pretty close to 50mb:

On the other computer, the one I use most though, I get much less, barely ever over 3mb download speed from fast sources:

Does anyone know how I can speed up the wireless connection? Under the old router I always got the full 2mb download speed, and range/obstructions arn't an issue as it's about 6 or 7 metres away from the router (through a wall). I have a Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H motherboard.

Help please :(

Re: Wireless N-Router Router Speed

Hi I'm having a the same problem,

When I have my laptop using a wired connection I'm getting the same speed as you almost touching the 50 meg speed.

But when wireless I'm only getting around 25 meg speed.

I have also found out, that if I take my wep security off the speed goes right back up to near 50 meg speed!
