Phonelines down?
This morning, a neighbour came over to use my phone, to call the vet, as his phoneline was down. At this point, I discovered my own phoneline was down, as were some other neighbours (all on VM).
So I used a callbox, and called customer services, and was told: "There is a known serious fault in the area. Our engineers are working on the issue right now." However, they couldn't (or wouldn't) give me an estimated time for a fix. Perhaps one of the helpful persons has more information on this? The area is the M41 area of Manchester. |

There are two "Planned Telephone Maintainence" items, but neither say which areas will be affected. I guess I could be in one of the areas.
They also say that people in the affected area's would have been notified beforehand. Nope, I wasn't. Bleh, its a wait and see game, I guess. -Edit- Figured out I have to select my area from the dropdown box. At which point, there is nothing listed relating to telephones. |

No. Its... about 7 miles away from the city center. The area is called Flixon. Obviously I don't want to say too much on a public forum.
Its 9.00pm and the phones are still down. |

India kept telling me that theres an "area fault".
I posted on the newsgroups (virginmedia.support.telephony), they more or less said that theres no area fault, and that I need an engineer. Thanks for lying to me, India. A pity I was using a payphone to call, and couldn't record them lying to me, or I'd be making an official complaint. |

That just annoys me to no end, when someone deliberately and wilfully destroys stuff with no regards as to whom it might cause problems for :mad:
I bet these people who vandalise telecoms cables/cabinets are the first to complain when their internet/phone doesn't work. :rolleyes: |
