Windows Home Server
Hi
i am running WHS which is basically W2K3 Server with some of the features disabled. Now does anyone know if there is a connection limit? For example, i am running utorrent on it and had it at a maximum of 5000 global connections with 100 connections per torrent. Would this cause the NIC to drop out and stop working, i.e. nothing on my internal network can connect or see it? Cheers |

Nope
I am running a Gigabit network. |
Re: Windows Home Server
I think there is a limit, yes, and my utorrent certainly isn't set that high!

Re: Windows Home Server
I seriously doubt the wisdom of such high settings.

I seriously doubt the helpfulness of that post!

I doubt your modem (if you're with VM) can support 5k concurrent connections. |
Re: Windows Home Server
o right
so that would explain it!! Will have a go and lower it! |
Re: Windows Home Server
Mine's set to 90, with 55 per torrent and they download fast enough normally. I find over 200 locks out my router anyway.

Re: Windows Home Server
I will try that!
I think my router can handle a few though! |
Re: Windows Home Server
Mine probably can but I actually like to keep some connections free! I sometimes adjust it anyway depending on how many torrents i'm using and how well seeded they are...
