Cannot play google/youtube videos
 

Hi All,
I have search but I cannot find the answer to my problem
When using firefox version 2 browser I can not play google/youtube videos but I can hear the audio sometimes I can see the video other times a black screen Cannot upgrade firefox or flash because I am using Windows 98.
I have the correct flash player and plugins because I can watch most other website videos.
I have checked out the help pages at youtube, firefox and flash without any luck
Internet Explorer works ok but a bit choppy at google and youtube but ok at the rest
For security reasons I would prefer to use firefox.
I dont think it is a firewall problem because it still does not work when I enter google and youtube has trusted sites.

any help would be great

is the computer you are trying to view the video's on capable of running xp?
if so it might be worthwhile putting that on as you would then be able to update to the latest version's of firefox etc.

I'd say it was to do with what version of Flash you have. I'm sure you need higher than 9 to use Youtube.

Because I have windows 98 I can only use Firefox 2 which can only use adobe flash player 9
I did have youtube playing ok before I had spyware problems
