Planning on a format

The laptop is running so bad I am planning to do a full format on it, however there is one thing i need to know before doing so

I am with Virgin broadband and virgin Email, will I loose all of the e mail messages contained in the various folders when i format IE The inbox, sent, drafts, trash etc.

If so how do I do about storing them elsewhere

Thanks

do you use Outlook or outlook express? what OS do you have now? Transfer Files and settings wizard in XP should copy these if you use Outlook or OE . Easy Transfer is the same in Vista

The only email programme is the one you get off the VM home page, dont know of anything else

I am using Vista Home Premium. I have done a format before on this laptop but was on Sky email when i did it and when it was restored all the folders were empty and i lost every email, want to avoid that this time

So you read it online :) In that case you have no problems its all stored remotely :)

just a thought - BEFORE you format, why not take a complete image of your system... just in case?! if you have an external hard drive, backup to that, and you can use this product (free 30 day trial, but it only costs about £20) Linkage
