uninstall update

I installed 10 important updates the other day , one of them turned out to be Internet explorer 8 .
Since installing this i have had no end of problems. I cant even do a system restore for some reason.

My question is if i uninstall this update . Will internet explorer 7 still be on my computor or would the update have got rid of that before installing 8.
