Re: connecting laptop to tv
Try reducing your screen resolution.
Edit; By the looks of things, you're converting digital signals (HDMI) to VGA, but to connect to the TV, you need to convert from VGA to digital. It isn't cheap to do it that way round. |
Re: connecting laptop to tv
I bought from maplin a VGA to HDMI converter (what it was worded on the box) about £10

to do this in vista (don't know if it's the same in xp)all you do is after you have connected the cable right click the desktop and you should see an option to clone the desktop once you have done this you will then see your desktop on the tv screen and can navigate to any file it is important to connect first otherwise you won't get the option hope this helps i have only done this once or twice myself so not that familiar with it but i did get it to work and watched films off my laptop hd |

VGA to HDMI is possible, but afaik costs much more that a tenner... http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...m=6#ps-sellers and that is just for 640x480 |
Re: connecting laptop to tv
VGA is the blue output on my laptop isn't it Gaz?
If so, it'll be a wee trip to Maplins for me tomorrow. |

The vga to dvi converters only work with televisions with DVI-i sockets, because that connector includes the analogue feed - DVI -d connectors are digital only & won't work. |
