Problem with printing
 

I have a Lexmark wireless printer , It has been working fine but all of a sudden it has stopped communacating with my lap top.
If i press print nothing happens and somtimes i get a message saying cannot communicate with printer.
I have uninstalled the soft ware and reinstalled it but still no joy.
I know it can print as i can do a scan and print that of ,
I have even tried printing useing the usb cable, and still the same problem. When i go into controle pannel , click on printers my printer shows up Ready.

It seems to have happened after i installed important updates ,
It installed internet explorer 8 which i have since been told can be trouble. I also tried a system restore but my lap top for some reason could not do it . Has any one any ideas what my next step is. Thanks

Go into your printers. (Start > Control Panel > Printers)

Is your Lexmark printer set as the default printer? If not, set it to default by right clicking it and clicking 'set as default printer'.
