Hi,

Can anyone recommend any free software that can encryption rar, zip, etc....

It doesn't encrypt Rar's and zips...it can encrypt anything... and hide as any file type you wish

Another vote for TrueCrypt.

It's currently protecting both my external USB drives, providing full drive encryption for 2 of my laptops, and also providing container based encryption on a couple of other systems.

PGP will also encrypt and sign any files and there are front ends to save using all the options in the CLI versions.

Been playing with PGP recently, it's certainly another well worthwhile option :tu:
