constant disconnects

hey all

recently been having a few problems with my virgin media connection, over the past 4-5 months ive been having occasional disconnects unplug replug worked again all this with an old 120 modem, recently about 2 weeks ago was constantly disconnecting even rebooting the modem just left lights flashing on the modem, got around to phoning virgin who sent me a new modem which arrive 2 days ago.... GREAT i thought.... plug it in set it up with them get it activated.... late evening... disconnect.... damn i think! reconnect it all works fine i think ah well just a hickup, now tonight its dissconnected no joke 10+ times in about 4-5 hours rebooting the modem aint helping, yet if i remove the wire from the wall to outside from the modem then reconnect it when its switched on 1/5 times it works again but 5 mins later dies again with the ready light flashing continually. here is my upload download etc.

Re: constant disconnects

sounds like you need a tech.

Possible UBR problem. ( Green Box outside house or flat)

to be safe , make sure all conections to your modem are tight and secure, and the cable from the ground outside into your house/flat is tight.

Ask neighbours if they are on VM and see if they are having the same issues.

Ring Vm on 150 (vm fone) Or 0845 454 1111 from any other fone Line.

i dont know much about the modem stats, so cant help you there. no doubt some of the VM Buffs in ere will get back to u when they can :)

As a note the UBR isn't the piece of equipment on the street, that's the cab - connections from all the cabs then go to the UBR. The UBR is responsible for many more connections than a single street.
