Downstream power level

I've recently experienced a drop in speed on my 20mb service in Manchester - down from around 19mb to less than 8.

In the newsgroups, tech support asked for my downstream power levels, I posted that they were as follows:

Downstream SNR : 38.5 dB
Downstream Receive Power Level : 12.1 dBmV
Upstream transmit Power Level : 53.0 dBmV

They have come back to me saying that is very high and requires an engineer visit...is that correct? I want to check before arranging an engineer as I've done this before and it turned out to be incorrect....I have to book time off work to get an engineer so I need to be certain.

Re: Downstream power level

The Downstream is high for anEX-NTL connection so let the engineer come and sort it for you, the other 2 are fine.

Yeah too high either ring them on 151 from a Virgin landline or post on the newsgroups
