SG7 Baldock area issue 20mb also any info on 50mb in bal/letch/steven area?

Hi guys, Long time lurker.

Anyone else from the SG7 Area and having issues?

Called up last night after trying alot of things at home first, which resulted in me finding out that the dhcp server for my area was having issues.

Long story short...........

Playing wow got disconnected.

Checked cable modem and such, sync-rdy was all light.

Connect directly to the modem, not able to get an ip. Removed coax, able to get an ip. hmmmmmmmmmm

Called vm who stated that it was a modem fault nothing was going on in the area and an eng would be out today before 12. Call ended happy chappy. that was a result. was expecting to wait ages for an eng.

12 comes and goes no one turns up. My wife has just called vm and was greeted by a message saying there are issues in the SG7 baldock area :( shame no one from vm though to call my wife who had to take a day off at short notice.

Anyways, is anyone else in the baldock area? and facing the same issues?

Also anyone know when the 50mb roll out will come to the baldock/letchworth/stevenage are?

Cheers all.

I believe 100meg is referring to his current (and yet to be proven) apparent belief that every single network issue any customer suffers from is down to Virgin's handling of the fight against the thieving **** that run cloned/'hacked' cable modems to receive free services.

:welcome: to the site by the way :)

Cheers for the replies guys,

Checking the modem info, showed a couple of failed update attempts at the time the connection was lost.

Hoping it is resolved tonite :)

Exeter can be added to that list of 50 Mb/s enabled areas

Thanks to the peculiarities of the VM network, Exeter doesn't have it's own CMTS's. It's on Newton Abbott (newt).

Nice list though, bbk. Should be a sticky.
