RF2 probs...
NEW member:-
Hey cable people i'm not sure if this is the right place to post but here goes.... i have a sky+ set up & was running a tvlink up stairs in the bedroom since building an extension (which hasent upset any cables) we moved the tv to the back of the house which sky had provided long enough cable to reach the moved box in side the house, however i extended the rf2 cable by some 20 mts & now the tvlink does not work ??!! ive got a slightly weaker picture but cant control the sky ? please help. |
Re: RF2 probs...
Having not owned a TV-Link, is there a power indicator on the device? It could simply be that the voltage drop over the distance is too high to power the device and for it to send signals to and fro

thanks for replying so quickly, yep there is a small red led, ive rechecked the tvlink & its still working, im @ present trying a signal booster in line & all this seems to be doing is making a better picture but no tvlink ?? ggggrrrrr |
Re: RF2 probs...
Well the booster has just really done what it says on the tin given
my a fantastic picture. How ever the tvlink is still not working??? does any one know what the maximum length of coax is before the RF2 power runs out ? as the extra 20 mts wld seem too long??? |
Re: RF2 probs...
I think you'll find that a booster will block the TV Link signal too

Re: RF2 probs...
so i cant move the sky+ box then really without loss ?
is there any gizmo or gadget that could resolve this problem ? and im thinking ive just wasted a tenner on a booster LoL |
Re: RF2 probs...
Well after spending an hour trawling the web i found another forum
that informed me that anything over 11 mts or multipuls of 11 mts of cable will affect the tvlink i even tried a high gain digi compatible booster which got the led working but didnt work the tvlink so i have to put the sky+ box back to the front of the house you learn somthing new every day |
