Windows 'View' icon

I have received a DVD of trade related info and a large number of the files are PDF documents. In one folder a large number of the file icons are what I think is the Windows 'View' icon, a small page with the corner turned down and a number of small pictures like small dots in the centre. I can however open them all by selecting Acrobat Reader from the list of programs on my PC perfectly.

My question is this, in one folder all of the View icons have six dots in the middle and in another folder containing very similar technical information all of the View icons that should be Acrobat Reader icons have only three dots in the middle, why?

Jim.

I managed to do that OK, I was just puzzled as to why some View icons have six dots and others only three.
