modem/router question

I am run my router conected all ways, but i had a tech come today
about my slow speeds, and he said i only need to be in use when using
laptop, but i know people who leave theres how i have got mine . what
how do you have your set up conected. And as for my slow speeds
he took the antuator off (which the last tech put on) saying i did not
need it, and when ran a speed test from their 50mg site it show 19mg
and that was it , even though he knew that this had being going on
since nov of last year, i asked him if the fault on my ubr (high tdx load)
had been fixed , and he did not know what a high tdx load was, mine you
he was in a big van with orange lights on so maybe he usually works
outside. He said to me to be carefull about ring in again about this as
i had rang lots of times. do not know what he ment by that, i have rang
quite a few times about my speeds but only to ask if the fault was fixed
. and virginmedia sent him out this time , after i made a official compliant,
:D:D:confused:

I don't understand what you're saying?

If you have a connection problem you should always remove the router and connect your computer directly to the modem. Routers can quite often be the cause of speed problems.

Sorry just looked at my post again , just noticed a typing error the word It
is missing. You have answered my question anyway. I only asked the question because todays tech is the first one to tell me this. Thanks for
your info . will try it that way see how things go.
