Ghosting/crashing issue

Hi,

I recently got the V+ service and since my TV only has 1 HDMI connector I bought a 5-point switch. Since I also have a X-Box and PS3 a switcher is kind of essential.

However, whenever I have the switcher attached the V+ tends to crash or ghost specifically when it tries to record a channel. I don't understand why recording a program would cause this at all since the additional tuners shouldn't be interacting with HDMI at all.

On some occassions also I can be watching V+, switch it off and switch on one of the consoles and there will be a distorted slight ghosting image from V+ left behind.

My current TV is a 32" Hitachi HD Ready TV, and the switcher is http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...h/Product.html

Does anybody have any ideas why this would be happening, due to the crashes I have had to format the V+ box twice already as the V+ service becomes 'unavailable' after each of these crashes and the only way to get it back seems to be to format it.

As I understand it there is 2 way data flow via the HDMI cable, the switcher may be interfering with this. However I am not sufficiently knowledgeable to provide an explanation, sorry.

If this is definitely only happening when connected via the HDMI switch, then it must be the switch, mustn't it? Have you tried running with the V+ connected via SCART just to prove the point? Or with the switch disconnected? You need to exclude the possibility that there is a fault with the V+. I can't understand why you have to reformat the V+ after these 'crashes', does a reboot not work?

Nope, when I do reboot the V+ services still aren't available, I find it odd too. If it happens again then I will try the SCART.
