how do i wire up socket
 

hi can anyone tell me how to wire up a telephone socket. i just had my house phone put on but have no ring tone so i opened the box and the wires where unconected i think kids outside have been pulling on it. so i need to know what color wires go where i have a black,orange,green,white and there is 3 pins to connect to hope this makes sense thank you

If the cables are insecure, perhaps from a poor installation, you should be contacting Virgin Media to get them to ensure the installation is protected.

Wiring on the street side of the master phone socket should not be touched by the consumer. Indeed wires external to the property, unless they are properly jointed are very likely to fail at the connection due to moisture ingress and other issues. Again call Virgin Media for a proper fix.
