Re: cable signal levels
Your upstream transmit power is too high at 59.0 but have you got any issues with your broadband?.
If your experiencing slow speeds, cut outs etc etc then you will need a tech visit to sort out those power levels. |

Re: cable signal levels
What is the recommended level for Upstream transmit Power? Mines at 51.5 (on QPSK).

Sounds fairly normal for the offshore tech support though, clearly your router's fault that the modem keeps falling offline and its' signal levels will be showing as red on their systems that they don't bother using often as it might distract from obsessive pursuit of the all-knowing flowcharts. |
Re: cable signal levels
Contact tech support by the newsgroups and they will book an engineer for you
|
Re: cable signal levels
where are the news groups as i havn't come across one. Also i will get my son who is a network engineer to get on to them but he calls them dumb to put it a polite way

Re: cable signal levels
Newsgroups are at news.virginmedia.com
and the group you want to subscribe to is:- virginmedia.support.broadband.cable If your not familar with newsgroups read up on them first via google then post a msg to this group above about your problems/transmit power and they will respond to you and im sure will book an engineer for you to come out and adjust the power levels. |
