Digihome 37723 hd tv help

Hi all :)

My mum n dad bought a digihome 37723hd 37 inch tv a few months back.
In the options it says it is in 50 hz ?
Surly this tv is able to offer 60 hz for a better display?
Can somebody help me find a way to get it into 60hz please?
I've looked all over, can't even find the website?

Thanks :)

I believe 50hz is the better format (PAL) but i stand to be corrected.

All i know is PAL format which we use in the UK is 50hz and this gives a better picture(more scan lines) to NTSC format which is 60hz, but this is on a CRT television as opposed to an LCD. I was under the impression hz didn't matter on an LCD screen so someone with the knowledge will hopefully be along soon. :)

Although the tv is new it wont necessarily have the full spec of a reference tv so thus you will find your options limited, is it full HD 1080p or 720p that will make a slight difference in viewing quality, also what are you actually watching to think your picture is poor

50Hz is standard PAL display rate, and unless its a fancy TV with a 100Hz display you'll only get 50Hz displaying a UK TV picture.

No, 60hz isn't better.

TV in this country (and all of Europe) is broadcast at 50hz, so you want your TV running at 50hz else it has to repeat frames which causes judder.

Your difference in clarity is probably from comparing a CRT to an LCD, in which case the CRT will come up on top every time.
