Hauppauge TV Remote on Vista.

I still have a Hauppauge remote control from an old TV card that broke. Instead of throwing it away, I want to get it working on my laptop. Is this possible?

I have an Acer Aspire 5920 with an IR port. I have tried using it on media player and media centre. It didn't work.

I can't find any software for my IR device, but the drivers are installed. Doesn't it have software?

I have and Acer aswell the IR port is for data, my old SE T630 used it.

The TV remote is a different signal IIRC

I'm not able to connect my phone via IR on the laptop. It just doesn't do anything. Plus like I said, there's no software to manage it.

The device is enabled in Device Manager.
