Adding another phone point from a spur
I have a reel of phone cable and some extension boxes and want to add another phone point in another room.I have access to run the cable under the floor to a point in another room(not master socket) .My question is can i just add the new cable to the exisiting point as if i was wiring a plug ie will have 2 sets of wires in each corresponding number in the socket i'm spurring from ?

Re: Adding another phone point from a spur
I've never had a problem daisy chaining the phone extensions. You must of course ensure you have a good electrical connectio. Of course there is also a limit on the number of phones you can connect at once, if they are all to function correctly.

Re: Adding another phone point from a spur
No special problems, you can chain, star, branch, whatever.
Only thing is, if it is a BT line carrying ADSL broadband, then you may need to be a little cleaner, ideally break the ADSL out with an ADSL faceplate and isolate the rest of the wiring from ADSL. |
