DVD burner hangs on leadin
I have a samsung r505 laptop I got from argos in the january sales (so fairly new) i've noticed whenever I goto burn a dvd it just hangs on lead-in and never progresses any further, after about 10mins or so it will just give up.
The discs are Verbatim DVD-R disks, unfortantly I don't have any others atm to try :( I've successfully burnt cd's before using the drive and I know the software works (tryed power2go and imgburn) as I plugged in a USB burner (LG gsa 4163 drive in a usb caddy) and that burns fine. Onboard drive is a TEAC DV-W28SR, I'm wondering if it's a problem with the drive or just a case of it doesn't like these perticular discs? |
Re: DVD burner hangs on leadin
Its possible that the TEAC dont like the disc's with the current firmware, but on searching the TEAC website I couldnt find mention of that specific drive
http://www.teac.co.jp/dspd/product/product.html Had a quick look on http://club.cdfreaks.com/ and again there is no mention of this drive. I would try NERO, give that a go and see if it works. |
Re: DVD burner hangs on leadin
Try using this free CD/DVD sw
http://www.pendriveapps.com/infra-re...-burning-tool/ It will run from a USB flash stick |

Re: DVD burner hangs on leadin
i had a similiar problem where my writer would hang on lead in. I have a Pioneer 112D.
Turned out it was software problem. I upgraded version of Nero and that solved my problem. |

Re: DVD burner hangs on leadin
I seem to have exactly the same problem with the same model laptop. I have contacted Samsung and they advised doing a backup to cd using Samsung Backup (to see if the problem was with windows or hardware). The backup worked fine, however, I cannot burn using Windows Vista.....
any suggestions?? |
