Windows Own Backup

is the windows own backup software any good that comes with vista as i can't afford to get norton ghost etc and, i don't want to risk infecting my fresh install with downloading a copy.

If you've got the software included with your edition of vista, you might as well use it. On paper it looks like it does the same job as ghost. Explore the features: Windows Backup and Restore Center. I would test it, but my vista laptop hasn't got it included.

NTBackup is ok, but you are better off invensting in some software or free software.

What are you backing up to?

use synctoy2 from microsoft. bonus is that it isn't flat file, so you can pull out any file with ease.
