Record dvd
 

Hello, I know this has probably been asked loads of time before but how do I tune My DVD recorder to virgin media so I can record anything, I do not have a v plus box,the dvd recorder make is an LGdrt689h. I cannot find any channels using it's setup. I do not have cheap scart leads. I have tried lots of configurations, but I cannot pick up any channels on the dvd recorder, even just the old 4 channels would be ok. I can play dvds fine. Can anyone explain to me (like I'm a five year old, with pictures) how to do it, I nearly killed the cat earlier in frustration.

I had this problem as they only connect your box to your dvd recorder via a scart lead if you press the av/input button on your dvd recorder remote and go through these you should find it mine is on AV2 if not you can connect it by connecting your tv areil lead staright to the box and getting another tv lead from the box direct to your recorder then tune it in hope this helps

On my lite-on dvd recoder its just scart to scart. I can only record the channel iam watching though on cable so if I want to record say deal or no deal I put the cable box on 104 then press a button on the dvd recorder remote where I want to record from (SCART) then press record and it will record off channel 104 as long as I keep it on that channel.

I think you need to realise that your DVD player can not 'pick up cable channels' -neither can your TV

Your cable set top box is the only thing that can pick up cable channels

Once the cable box is tuned to the channel you like you can play it through your TV and your DVD recorder 'simultaniously' - you'll need a scart lead from cable box to TV and scart lead from cable box the DVDR
