Stay on G or upgrade to N
Hiya all iam not sure what to do as my belkin 54g single aerial router is becoming unreliable since we started using an additional laptop on the network
so iam puzzled if i should upgrade to N or get a better G router? My router is in front room with laptop connected wireless and i have Pc and Xbox in box room upstairs all wireless. My BB connection is 10mb any help/advice greatly welcome :) |
Re: Stay on G or upgrade to N
I would upgrade.
I was using a n router a few months ago until the constant reboots that it needed became to much hassle. I took it back and im back using my old g router. I now wish I had got another n router as it provided a massive boost in speed and and decent improvement in range. |
Re: Stay on G or upgrade to N
my wife bought me a d-link dir-655 and even though i am on 10mbitps (not using 'n' to its potential wirelessly) i have noticed a huge difference in download speed and gaming pings , only had a bog standard cheap lynksys router before and didn't realize how bad my connection was, not had a single crash since i installed it :) i would upgrade.

upgrade and you will notice an improvement in performance, range and stability plus you are futureproofing your connection with the latest technology.

You could just try changing the broadcast channel |
Re: Stay on G or upgrade to N
eh? it is broke?

Re: Stay on G or upgrade to N
sorry I edited. You need to assertain if it actually is or if there is some contributing factor to the break down. TBH I hate wireless with a passion and have personally never had any luck with it and just cabled up the house. The only wifi device I use is my mobile.

netgear wndr3300 great speed 'n' capable you can use this router even with 'g' adapters and experience faster speed and better coverage i would definately upgrade to a 'n' router

Re: Stay on G or upgrade to N
Don't get the N1 Vision. We've got the modem version and it is a pile of ****.
Totally unreliable, keeps on throwing the wireless clients off and generally playing silly beggers Go for the netgear |
