Wireless connection problem

My landlords have recently changed their broadband provider to sky and I am having real problems trying to connect to their wireless network.

I have been given the password as it is a secure network and when I put this in it says its connected and the icon changes to green then about 10 seconds later its disconnected. During the time it is connected I cannot get onto any internet sites.

I have tried changing my IP to a static IP but same happens. I have also tried altering all the settings I can think of on my laptop but nothing works.

Anyone got any ideas?

could it be your too far away from the wireless router, have you tried connecting via ethernet cable directly from the router and your laptop, if it works via the ethernet cable then try again wirelessly. I,m not that knowledgable but this has worked for me in the past

Re: Wireless connection problem

my landlord stays in the house next to me so i dont have access to the router. When I have been trying to connect the signal strength has been at least 4 bars.

Have you tried deleting the network connection, then reinstating it?
