Video Recording

Hey guys, I have decided I want to make use of my Youtube Account by uploading some video tutorials of my own. Can anyone recommend some free screen recording software? Also how easy would to be to edit? By this I mean to put something like "Welcome to my video" etc at the beginning

AVI, I can then convert it into a flash or WMV file.

You can put it together in Windows Movie Maker. That is free.

But rubbish :) - if you can't justify the £ for Camtasia get Camstudio or have a look at Jing - made by the same people that make Camtasia; haven't tried it myself but it looks like a cut down version of Camtasia for web content so might be something like what you're after.
