Wall mounting a Netgear switch?

Has anyone got any suggestions for wallmounting a Netgear GS608?

It's the standard size and shape of most of the Netgear stuff, but in their wisdom they've decided I'd much rather have it out on show on a stand than off in a cupboard just working.

Thanks in advance!

I worked in an educational environment on work-based learning a few years ago, and they used a 'no more nails' method to mount them on the wall. They were kind of...cheap...and used a cheap version of no more nails. We had to take a couple of them down...and we struggled, a lot. Once they were stuck, they were stuck.

At my home, we have a little cupboard which contains various books, and the modem/router are just on top of that. Luckily the Telewest technician that installed our modem all those years ago tacked the cable along the skirting board, so it can't really be seen, and the cupboard is in front of a wall socket, so the wires are all hidden under the unit.

Thanks for the reply CHILL.

For now, I've settled with swapping out a couple of the in-feet screws for longer ones to attach a sheet of plastic behind it to hook it to the wall. Not perfect but does the job nicely and easily removable if necessary.

Perhaps you could adapt some of the ideas used in this article:

Not quite what I was looking for but there's some really good stuff there and definitely worth a bookmark - Cheers Rob!

My solution:

Some ally angle from B&Q with foam stuck on the inside.

Other option would be some velcro tape. One side on the modem/router, one side on the wall/shelf.

Most of these devices don't weigh much, so it should hold just fine.

Don't they have the keyholes on the back to drop onto a couple of screws?

That's what I was expecting when I bought it. It seems Netgear would rather you had it on display than away somewhere forgotten but functional...

British over-engineering and improvisation at it's best..

That's not going anywhere.

The only picture I could find of the base does not show any keyholes. However, eBuyer say it's wall-mountable so who knows?

The eBuyer video that goes with this item is a classic. The young lass reading the script sounds like she hasn't a clue what most of the terms and details mean.
