'Litest' media player

Normally I use WMP11 as my media player and that's good enough but my computer isn't the most powerful right now so I was wondering what is considered the most 'lite' media player.

Not really bothered about features other than 'shuffle' so I'd be happy with something pretty basic.

VLC player for me. Hard to fault. Whatever the specs, as you don't expect an x264 to run smoothly on a low system, but a divx/avi should still.

These will run from a USB drive if needed

Another vote for VLC Media player. Small, and I haven't found anything it can't play.

Can you set up playlists in VLC? I can't see anything that allows me to

Yes you can add / save playlists with VLC. It's on the main box where file/media is. Could be the version you've got.

Though I had a strange prob with the latest version, on tv out I couldn't play it full screen on the 2nd monitor (the tv out one) as it jumped to the default monitor. So had to revert back to 0.9.2 and everything is fine again.Strange.
