Upgrading From Palm M105 Handheld
I have a Palm M105 handheld which I currently hotsync via the serial port on my PC.
I'm upgrading the motherboard and other items on my PC and am finding that a lot of top motherboards do not have a serial port. One of my options is to upgrade my Palm to a version that hotsyncs via USB so that I won't need a serial port. Ideally I am looking for a new Palm which is not only able to run my existing software but also has additional memory and features e.g. SD card storage, bluetooth etc. A possible alternative is a handheld from a different company, which uses the Palm OS and is compatible with my existing software. Either machine would probably have to hotsync via USB. Can anyone recommend a suitable handheld please? Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA. |

Re: Upgrading From Palm M105 Handheld
what about a usb-2-serial converter? we use them at work for programming as the mitsi plc's and network controllers only have serial ports. and of course most laptops from the last couple of years or so onward don't have serial.
so i use this http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=34449 the only downside is that as far as i know it only works upto xp, although not having vista i haven't bothered searching to see it it will work. |

Assuming you do get a new palm, they only do 3 non smart phone models Z22, E2 and TX.
Used to have a TX very satisfied, top of the range out of the 3. JJ |

My next phone will be the Palm Pre Don't think it's available over here for a few months yet.
