Firefox doesn't display PDF files

I have an Advent 4489 netbook and an Acer 5920 laptop, both using Windows XP, Adobe Reader 9, Firefox 3.0.5 and Internet Explorer 7.

On the Netbook, it was using Adobe Reader 8.1.3 and PDF files loaded in both browsers fine. I then uninstalled that and installed FoxIt...that didn't work. I then installed Adobe Reader 9, and I was no longer able to view PDF documents in any browser.

In FireFox's applications settings, PDFs are set to run using adobe (default) and the tick box in Adobe > Edit > Preferences > Internet to display PDFs in the web browser is ticked.

Any ideas? Because I really need to view PDFs in my browser.

I have tried reinstalling FF, and that didn't work.

Where can I find nppdf32.dll? I have tried the Windows Search Function, and that didn't find anything.

Re: Firefox doesn't display PDF files

it should be under c:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat version\Reader\Browser although, admittedly, I don't know if v9 is the same as previous versions.
