Having a lot of trouble with IE 7 on Vista on my laptop

Hi.

There seems to be something seriosuly wrong with the install of IE7 on my laptop.

Here's a few examples of what happens (I have tested the sites on other PCs and they are fine, they also work ok on Firefox).

Aol webmail doesn't load up the e-mails.
Buying stuff online regularly fails to check out .
Remote Web Workplace locks up every 5 or so minutes.

I've disabled all the add ons and done a full reset. I've also done full virus and spyware scans and I am definitely clean.

Is there anything else I can try besides a system restore?

Thanks a lot.

I'm afraid this has to be said:

Try a different browser such as Firefox, Opera, etc.

I'm using Firefox at the moment but the rest of the family always go on to IE out of habit.

Also, I'm the kind of guy that these things bug.

Microsoft have released numerous fixes lately, have you tried running Windows Update?

Also try disabling or temporary uninstalling the spyware and anti-virus software, to see if this resolves the issue.

McGraw-

Hi, my name's Cody, and I'm working with the Internet Explorer Outreach Team to help answer questions folks might have about their copies of Internet Explorer.

royaltiger is right, there's a new, updated copy of Internet Explorer that has just been released which should have fixed your issues. However, as of this week, Internet Explorer 8 is no longer in beta. It is now officially what is called a "Release Candidate," meaning that essentially, it will be almost identical to the soon-to-be released final version of Internet Explorer 8. Here's a link to the download: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/int...?ocid=ie8_sm_a

I hope this is useful!

Thanks,
Cody
