MSN uploads slow Zyxel P320W

My MSN uploads are tediously slow on this router, ive been told that ports need to be opened, any ideas what ones need to be opened?

If you're uploading using MSN then you shouldn't need to open any ports.

MSN should establish an outbound connection through the router's firewall by itself, without any intervention.

Port forwarding/opening is normally only required for peer-to-peer applications, where multiple unknown hosts are trying to establish connections to you from outside the router's firewall.

The problem could just be the the router doesn't handle uploads well. How is it when uploading files through other mechanisms?

uploading elsewhere is fine, FTP, websites its all fine, i usually get around 90k upload speed which for 768k on 20mb is about right.

Strange that. I certainly wouldn't have thought there would be any requirement to open ports for MSN, just doesn't make any sense.

The only other thing I can think is that maybe it's a limitation of MSN or something - TBH I don't use it for uploading/transferring anything that big so probably wouldn't have noticed for that reason.
